Fire Damages Old Egg Cellar Structure
Columbia, CA — An arson set fire caused approximately $40,000 damage to the abandoned Egg Cellar structure at 22265 Parrotts Ferry Rd. near Springfield Rd. at 2:41 this morning.
CAL Fire Battalion Chief Barry Rudolph reports the damage was confined to the structure´s exterior. Firefighters were able to save approximately $200,000 of the building.
According to CAL Fire Emergency Command Center Communications Operator Jim DeVoll in San Andreas two CAL Fire battalion chiefs, six CAL Fire engines, Columbia Fire chief and one engine, one Sonora City Fire Department engine along with two water tenders from Stations 56 and 76, breathing support from Station 79 and Tuolumne County prevention responded to the early morning blaze.
