Fire In Calaveras Ranger District Likely To Be Contained Friday
Bear Valley, Ca — Fire crews remain on scene of a vegetation fire in the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest.
The 3-4 acre blaze is in an isolated area southeast of Bear Valley.
?Even though we did get some moisture in that Spicer Reservoir area this past weekend, crews are saying that the rate of spread is moderate,? says Pat Kaunert, Stanislaus National Forest Spokesperson. ?That means we´re still well into fire season.?
Kaunert says that approximately 75 firefighters are on scene, and it will likely be Friday before it is fully contained. Crews are battling the blaze from the air and ground.
