Dedication Ceremony Held For Jamestown Jail

Jamestown, Ca — A dedication ceremony was held this afternoon in Rocca Park for the historic Jamestown Jail facility.
Years ago, the jail was moved to Pollardville, a western style theme park in the greater Lodi area. Pollardville went out of business last year, and thanks to an extensive fundraising campaign, the jail was moved back to Jamestown.
?This is a piece of Jamestown history, as well as Tuolumne County history,? says Tuolumne County Supervisor Dick Pland. ?It just seemed like the right thing to do, for folks to make every effort to get it up here.?
The dedication ceremony began at noon, with the Sonora High School Jazz Band providing the musical prelude.
