Mother Lode Continues To Support Southern California Firefighters
San Andreas, CA — According to CAL Fire Emergency Command Center Communications Operator Jim DeVoll, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit has sent numerous resources to fight those southern California fires.
On site for the southland fires are two strike teams of engines, two strike teams of local government engines, 10 hand crews, one strike team of dozers, Copter 404 from the Columbia Air Base and numerous overhead personnel. Approximately 54 Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit personnel are now in southern California.
DeVoll adds that because this is the Winter Prepardedness Season, local resources temporarily lost to southern California are not backfilled. That dictates that Mother Lode residents need to take even greater precautions when debris burning due to the shortage of firefighting resources.
