Heart Association: Wear Red Tomorrow
San Andreas, CA — Don´t be surprised if you see red tomorrow. It´s just Mother Lode residents raising awareness about heart disease.
The Take It To Heart Foundation is encouraging residents in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties to don red Friday, February 2 as part of the national Go Red For Women campaign sponsored by the American Heart Association.
According to the foundation, heart disease is the number one killer of American women.
The Heart Association says, on average, an American dies of cardiovascular disease every 35 seconds.
This year´s message isLove Your Heart” and to do so the association says you shouldget physical, learn your numbers (such as cholesterol and blood pressure), eat smart and kiss someone.”
