“Boil Water” Alert Could Be Rescinded At 5:45 This Evening

Sonora, CA — The “boil water” alert for the downtown Columbia area could be lifted at 5:45 this evening.
That is when the final lab test will come back.
Tuolumne Utilities District Spokesperson Sheri Barnett says so far lab tests have confirmed that the district´s water quality is “beautiful.”
An investigation continues into the exact cause of the Sunday evening alert.
22 Columbia restaurants, including bed and breakfast establishments, were asked to curtail their operations during the alert by Tuolumne County Environmental Health.
