Tuolumne County Approves Water Quality Plan
Sonora, CA — Water quality was an issue of discussion today at the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meeting.
The Supervisors approved a comprehensive plan to address issues such as storm water runoff and non-point source pollution impacts within Tuolumne County´s watersheds.
Public Works Director Peter Rei told the board that it is a20 year vision document.” He compared it to the county´s Recreation Master Plan. Issues of importance are laid out, but are not voted on until a later time.
The plan calls for the county to look at ways to address three principal non-point sources of water pollution. These include pathogens and nutrients, urban contaminants and erosion and sedimentation.
