San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Master Gardeners are hosting an open garden day Saturday at the demonstration garden in the Calaveras County Government Center.
This will kick off a monthly series of Open Garden Days.
This Saturday, February 24 the public is invited from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to view gardening demonstrations and ask Master Gardeners home gardening questions.
Master Gardener Carole Manley will lead a gardening demonstration on how to espalier fruit trees at 10 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Master Gardener Betty Merit will give a presentation on planting asparagus.
The demonstration garden is a working garden that was planted to educate the public about home gardening. It is funded by Master Gardeners, the UC Cooperative Extension, grants and private donations.
