Board Requests Closed Session On Trinitas Project
San Andreas, CA — Due to the amount of opposition to the proposed west county subdivision called the Ridge at Trinitas, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors has called for a closed session to discuss the project.
The reason cited is a finding for significant potential for litigation. The idea was brought up by Supervisor Tom Tryon during Tuesday´s board meeting.
Tryon says he wants to know more about the project´s history and what the county´s discretion might be while reviewing it.
The existing 18-hole golf course was originally built for private use and is located near Highway 26 and Ospital Road. Owner and developer Mike Nemee is now asking to build a lodge and a 13-home gated community around the course.
An Environmental Impact Report has been developed and distributed to the public but it does not include any environmental review for the sprawling golf course.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the project at 7 p.m. September 20 at the Government Center in San Andreas.
