Peace And Freedom Party Fails To Qualify For June Primary Election
Sponsored by:
Sacramento, CA — The Peace and Freedom Party hasn´t registered enough voters to qualify to nominate candidates for the June primary election.
The party´s chairman says the party will appeal the secretary of state´s decision.
The absence of Peace and Freedom means six parties qualified to nominate candidates by splitting the state´s nearly 16 million registered voters. Democrats remain dominant, with 43 percent. Republicans have 35 percent.
Other parties making the cut are the American Independent, Green, Libertarian and Natural Law parties. The remaining 18 percent declined to state a party affiliation.
