Road Closures And Hazards

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The California Highway Patrol is reporting several road hazards due to rain and hail.

A rock and mud slide has been reported on Highway 120 at Tulloch Road. There are two slides on lime kiln road.

One at the first bridge south of Highway 108, the other is a 1/2 mile south of the entrance to Mtn. Springs.

Tom Wills with the CHP also says that Highway 120 east of Old Priest Grade has been closed due to a culvert that gave out.

Wills says repairs on that road could take several weeks. Cars and personal use trucks are advised to use an alternate route, however the weight restrictions do apply so commercial trucks will have a hard time reaching Groveland.

The Tuolumne County Department of Public Works is reporting that Italian Bar Road from the Columbia end is currently closed due to washouts of berms and ditches. The access via Twain Harte and South Fork is currently available.
