Bail Reduction Denied For Attempted Murder Suspect

San Andreas, CA — A motion to have Steven Abernathy´s bail reduced was denied in Calaveras County court Monday.
Abernathy of West Point is charged with shooting Shana Sakata of Glencoe in March. Sakata was shot once in the face and is recovering from her injuries.
Abernathy remains in jail on $340,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing will take place April 20 at 2 p.m. in Department 2 of Superior Court.
