Calaveras County Fees May Increase

San Andreas, CA — $157 million are needed for Calaveras County road repairs … to date, only $3.9 million of that amount has been raised.
The Board of Supervisors, in their weekly meeting, are back to the drawing board in an effort to close the gap.
One option would be to increase a countywide fee that was levied on developers of new subdivisions and commercial businesses two years ago. Another option; the creation of an assessment district that would charge homes and businesses a road fee. Still another would be an increase in either the gas or sales tax or both.
