Smoking Caused Monday’s Douglas Flat Fire

Douglas Flat, CA — It has been determined that smoking was the cause of a house fire in Douglas Flat Monday.
The fire, which began at 3:30 a.m., temporarily shut down Highway 4 in both directions.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says smoking caused the fire.
The two story home and it contents plus one vehicle were a total loss. The family was home at the time but no one was injured.
