Joanie C. Max, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Sonora, California. She was born on December 20, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois.
Joanie spent her life dedicated to hard work, leadership, and building relationships with those around her. She managed various companies throughout her career, later managing Standard Brands paint store in Southern California for 20 years. She then became the park manager of Rawhide Mobile Home Park in Jamestown, California, where she proudly served the community for 27 years.
Joanie loved working with people and was a friend to all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and ability to connect with others created lasting friendships throughout her life. She will be remembered for her caring nature, strong work ethic, and the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her two children, Dianna Mejias and Kimberly Markert, both of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Joshua Dunn of White City, Oregon, Alana Dunn-Veloz of Menifee, California, and Stephanie Cook and Alyssa Cook of Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren, Dominic Tornatore, Ember Veloz, and Calvin Veloz of Menifee, California.
A celebration of Joanie’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rawhide Mobile Home Park Clubhouse in Jamestown, California.
Joanie will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
