Russell Louis Hoenes Jr., M.D. passed away Sabbath, October 27th at his residence in Sonora, CA.
Russell is survived by his wife Sally; their three children – Greg Hoenes and his wife Jill (of Glendale, CA), Kari Hoenes and her husband Pete Quijada (of Moorpark, CA), and Marcella Hutson (of San Francisco, CA); six grandchildren (Brennan Hoenes, Kayleigh Todo, Gryphon Limerick, Noah Atkinson, Reilly Todo, and Reece Todo) and one step-grandson (Jake Quijada).

- Services: A memorial “Celebration of Life” service will take place at the Discover Life Seventh-day Adventist Church, 40 North Forest Road, Sonora, CA 95370 on Sabbath, November 10, 2018 at 4:00 pm. In light of his generous spirit and consistent philanthropy, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Chaplain’s Fund, Adventist Health, Sonora, or to the Worthy Student Fund at Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy in lieu of flowers.
