Mountain Ranch, CA — Firefighters from the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District raised more than $1,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Saturday.

They were posted at an intersection in Mountain Ranch for 4 hours collecting donations in their boots.

The Greater Northern California Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association organized the event.

The association provides treatment and works to find cures for neuromuscular diseases.

The money will help the chapter´s 1,000 registered clients in the Central Valley and Gold Country.
