The Biggest Travel Show

Every Spring the US Travel Association (USTA), the organization responsible for selling the US to international visitors hosts an annual appointment-based trade show for tour operators, travel agency groups, meeting planners and media from all over the world. Thanks to their efforts, inbound travel into the US continues to grow and the US continues to be one of the top-ranked countries in the world for international travel.

For the first time ever, the show is taking place on the west coast for the 2nd year in a row. Nanci Sikes, our Executive Director participated in the show last year in San Francisco which also led to a familiarization tour of our area for tour operators and media from some 10 different countries.

This year the show is in Los Angeles, April 21-25 and Nanci Sikes and Peggy Mosley of the Groveland Hotel will be representing our area at the event. They have the potential for individual appointments during the show with 86 different tour operators, travel suppliers & media from around the world. In addition at various functions they’ll meet with a number of other travel buyers – all of which can lead to a lot of new business for our area. Their requested appointments includes suppliers from Brazil, China, Japan, Great Britain, Canada, Switzerland, Jordan, Germany, Denmark, Taiwan, Sweden, Argentina, Russia, Ireland, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay, South Africa, India, Korea, Peru, Israel, Malaysia & France plus some more that will hopefully be added along with a number of major US suppliers.

It’s proven to be a wonderful forum to connect with travel planners and buyers that collectively bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to America and to California with many more hopefully coming to Gold Country.
