Camp Tuolumne Trails (CTT) will be kicking off its Fourth Annual Concerts for a Cause Summer Music Series on August 24. All proceeds from the concerts go toward camp’s “Accessible Arts for All” program.
This summer’s concert lineup includes:

Musicians perform in CTT’s 150-seat, wheelchair-accessible outdoor amphitheater set among the pine and oak trees of its 80-acre facility, which borders the Stanislaus National Forest. Built during the pandemic-forced shutdown of camp, the amphitheater was built largely from monetary and materials donations and a team of volunteers helped construct it.
Opening in 2008 to serve campers with disabilities, Camp Tuolumne Trails’ mission is to help those with disabilities and those who support them by providing an accommodating and stimulating environment for healing, respite, education and recreation. Over the past 15 years, CTT has served hundreds of special-needs campers ages 10 to 80, offers a Family Camp for an entire family unit with a disabled child or adult, and hosts unique groups such as outdoor education programs for elementary school children, and Operation Freedom Paws, a nonprofit that matches service dogs to veterans with PTSD, who spend a weekend at camp as part of their training with their dogs.
CTT, one of the most accommodating and accessible camps in the country, provides its campers with a unique opportunity to those who might not otherwise ever have the opportunity to enjoy the fun of a typical summer camp. The large facility offers an accessible swimming pool, fishing pond, soccer field, basketball, archery, volleyball and gold mining, ping-pong, pool and Foosball tables, music studio, arts and crafts, and the new ceramics studio. six large cabins and two bathhouses. The bathhouses and the infirmary now feature ceiling-mounted lift chairs for easy access to bathing and medical treatment, thanks to a recent grant received from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Program and medical staff are determined by individual camper’s needs.

Camp Tuolumne Trails, a project of the Jerry and Paula Baker Foundation, is a camp for individuals with special medical needs and their families. It is devoted to helping those with special needs and those who support them by providing an accommodating environment for healing, respite, education and recreation.
From kids with muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy to military veterans dealing with readjustment and/or post-traumatic stress, its campers find Tuolumne Trails to be therapeutic and fun. It is located on 80 beautiful acres of Sierra Nevada wilderness outside the mountain community of Groveland, Calif., near Yosemite National Park.
