Marijuana Collective Jury Trial Date Set
Sonora, CA – A Jury trial date has been set for December 10th in the well publicized medical marijuana collective case against Jana Marie Evans, 59, Nancy June Smith, 57, Sara Herrin, 55 and Danny Joe Geller Herrin, 27.
All four were former workers at Today’s Health Collective charged with illegally selling marijuana. According to the website it was a non-profit cooperation with Sara Herrin RN, BSN, and retired Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Administrator, as the President and Executive Director.
The defendants have a court date on November 19th to address several motions related to the upcoming trial. Court dates for this collective were pushed back due to scheduling conflicts.
Local law enforcement raided several medicinal marijuana collectives in May 2011 and arrested nine individuals. According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office the collectives were allegedly selling marijuana for profit rather than collectively cultivating marijuana for medicinal purposes.
Sgt. Craig Davis of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team executed 17 search warrants at numerous locations including banks. He noted that the State Board of Equalization provided six people to look over records. The initial report is here.
