The flea market has been a community tradition since the 1970s, drawing thousands of shoppers over two days each August. Shoppers will find a wide selection of goods including men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, housewares, garden items, linens, outdoor gear, and furniture. Something for every household.
The sale is the community center’s largest annual fundraiser. In a typical year the event raises around $30,000; last year’s sale brought in an exceptional $40,000. Proceeds go directly toward keeping the historic building open and operating, covering costs like utilities, maintenance, insurance, and property tax, which together run close to $44,000 a year before any repairs costs.
Keeping the building’s doors open depends on fundraisers like the flea market.
The annual sale has served as a community resource during times of local crisis, including helping people displaced by wildfires and those needing to leave unsafe home situations by helping them furnish a new home with goods from the sale.
