Event Description:
Step into the past and let the spirits of Columbia’s history guide you through an unforgettable evening. “Stories in Stone,” presented by Friends of Columbia State Historic Park, invite you to a unique living, or rather “unliving” history experience.
For four nights Columbia docents will escort you by lantern light through Columbia’s Historic Cemetery. As you move from one gravesite to the next, you’ll encounter some of the souls who are laid to rest beneath the headstones and listen to their captivating stories of how they lived, how they died, and the unique journey that brought them to Columbia.
This immersive “unliving” historical experience will provide a deeper, more personal connection to the rich history of Columbia. Be prepared to be both entertained and enlightened as history is revealed in a way you’ve never experienced before.
Important Information:
– The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
– Please bring a jacket and wear comfortable shoes, as the path may be rough and steep in places.
