Mariposa Butterfly Festival will soar to new heights during 2019 event
Team Fastrax skydiving team will be soaring through the skies of the gold rush town of Mariposa during The Mariposa Butterfly Festival on Saturday and Sunday May 4 -5. The skydivers will be landing up close in the Butterfly Festival Parade on Highway 140 Saturday morning at 10 am sharp. Team Fastrax is scheduled to perform 4 times during the festival weekend.
The Festival features 5,000 butterflies being released over the weekend and children will be able to hold them in their hands. A big Art and Artisan Fair with over 70 vendors will also be happening. The festival includes bands playing in the Art Park, a new Kid Zone with a petting zoo, pony rides and educational exhibits.
Another major addition to this festival will be the new tourism film “The Mariposa Experience “which will be shown both days near the festival entrance. The Multiscreen presentation features aerial and ground footage of whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing and skydiving, along with stunning winter footage of Yosemite National Park. https://youtu.be/fuW_foo2gKA
Location of the festival is in Downtown Mariposa where Highways 140 and 49 meet in the Sierra Foothills. Hours for the festival are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6p.m. Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be free shuttle rides from the Mariposa Fairgrounds to Downtown on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
