Don’t forget to reserve your tickets for Opening Weekend at Railtown 1897! In addition to rides aboard the Mother Lode Cannonball excursion train and Blacksmith demonstrations, Chapter 49 of the Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association and the Sonora Model A Club will have their assortment of historic vehicles and machines on display in the park (Sonora Model A’s on Saturday only).

Your 6-mile, 45-minute roundtrip train ride will take you past the water tower from Petticoat Junction and transport you from the backyards of Jamestown to the rugged hillsides of California’s Mother Lode country. After your ride, explore the historic grounds, tour the Roundhouse, have a picnic, and spend the day in the beauty of California’s Gold Country.

Animal Policy
Pets or other animals, except service animals are prohibited on the train. Service animal means a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability. All other animals, including emotional support, comfort or companion animals, are not considered service animals.

Trains will generally be pulled by the 1265 diesel locomotive. Motive power is subject to change without notice.
