During the Sonora’s Second Saturday, September 10, the Sonora United Methodist Church will provide free Root Beer Floats from 5 pm to 8 pm., as well as free clothing and books.
Tours of the historic church will also be given. The church has been on the site since 1852 and the current building dates from 1923 and has many fine stained glass windows. The kitchen and fellowship hall were dug out and built under the church years after the church was constructed.
The church is located at 90 Yaney Ave. in Sonora, diagonally across the street from the Tuolumne County Courthouse. Parking is located behind the church on Upper Sunset Ave. For more information contact the church office at (209) 532-4850 or Lorraine Vogt at (209) 559-5335.
