11-year-old French orphan, Félicie (voiced by Elle Fanning) has one dream – to go to Paris and become a dancer. Her best friend Victor (Nat Wolff), is a boy with a passion for inventing, they take a leap of faith to leave their orphanage. Félicie must pretend to be the child of a wealthy family and learn fast to remain at the prestigious Opera Ballet School in Paris. The film already opened in theaters in most of Europe, and was scheduled for release in the US in March until The Weinstein Company pushed it back to August.
