This super easy recipe is perfect for game night, be it football, baseball , poker, bridge, canasta or whatever other game you congregate around with a big group of people. One of the great things about this dip is that its equally great served in a sourdough bread bowl as an alternative to spinach dip, as it is served with potato chips , or for a healthy twist served with carrot sticks ,zucchini, celery, and yes even raw mushrooms as part of a crudités platter. For best results prepare this the night ahead and let it chill to really let the flavors blend together.
| Amount | Measure | Ingredients |
|---|---|---|
| 16oz | container | Sour cream |
| 1 – 1/2 | cups | condensed cream of mushroom soup (about 1 can) |
| 8 | oz | can water chestnuts chopped |
| 7 | oz can | Mushrooms chopped |
| 2 | tbsp | bacon bits (I use imitation bac-os but real would work too) |
| 2 | tbsp | Onion soup Mix (about 1/3 of a package) |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | garlic salt |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | black peppe or to taste |
To prepare:
Mix All Ingredients together in a medium sized mixing bowl until well blended then cover and chill at least 2 hours, preferably overnight. Serve in a hollowed out sourdough bread bowl or as part of a vegetable platter or simply with a bag of good ruffle cut potato chips and enjoy!
