Patients often take their medication differently than the physician prescribed. For example, if a doctor prescribes a patient to take one blood pressure tablet twice a day, a patient might take two tablets at one time. Their reasoning may be due to convenience. However, taking a medication different from the way that it is prescribed prevents the patient from fully benefiting from it.
