What is a normal heart rate and blood pressure?
A normal heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute at rest. A normal blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg. Medications are usually recommended for a blood pressure over 140/90. Most patients with a blood pressure over 160/100 will require at least two medications, sometimes more, to get it under control. Weight loss and exercise can have a significant positive impact on blood pressure.
