Calaveras County, CA — Motorists can once again access a stretch of Salt Spring Valley Road that was closed earlier this week due to wintry weather that hit the region in recent days, causing localized flooding.
Calaveras County Public Works blocked the road between 5170 and 6293 Salt Spring Valley Road on Monday, November 17, 2025, as high waters covered parts of the roadway, not allowing travel. As we reported here, drivers were directed to utilize local diversions to avoid the area until road personnel could examine it and determine it was safe to reopen.
Today, public works officials announced that the road conditions are safe and that they have cancelled the closure.
