Sonora, CA – Temporary forest fire restrictions will begin tomorrow and will last through the end of the year.
Stanislaus National Forest officials report, “With rising temperatures, dry conditions, and recreation increasing across the forest, the risk of wildfires has also increased. These restrictions are an immediate and effective method to reduce the potential for loss of life and property and to protect the physical, biological, and cultural resources of the forest from fire.”
The temporary restrictions apply to the moderate- and high-fire-hazard areas. The forest order starts on Friday, July 17, 2026, and will remain in place through December 31, 2026.
