Update: Vegetation Fire Near Don Pedro Bridge
Update at 5:40 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that crews will remain working through the overnight on the Jacksonville Fire, off Jacksonville Road near Lake Don Pedro. Officials say the blaze remains at 11 acres with forward rate of spread stopped. Investigators have not yet determined its cause.
Update at 1:40pm: The Jacksonville Fire, a vegetation fire incident burning along Jacksonville Road near Highway 120 and the James E. Roberts Bridge in the Lake Don Pedro area is now being described by CAL Fire as at 11 acres in size with the forward rate stopped.
Columbia airbase resources remain on it. Although other air resources called in to help are being reassigned, more engines are being allocated. At last check about 90 personnel were assigned to the blaze.
Update at 1:15pm: Officials remain on scene of a vegetation fire burning along Jacksonville Road near Highway 120 and the James E. Roberts Bridge in the Lake Don Pedro area. Around 90 firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze. CAL Fire reports that it is currently around 5-6 acres in size. While there is no containment estimate, CAL Fire reports that crews are making progress.
Update at 12:40pm: CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports the “Jacksonville Fire” is 5-10 acres in size and moving at a “moderate rate of spread.” There are no immediate reports of any structures being threatened. The fire is near the area of Highway 120 and the James E. Roberts bridge.
