Ruby F. Burgess, age 95 of Sonora a lifelong Tuolumne County resident, California born July 7, 1926 in Angels Camp to Darling and Alice Castle passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Avalon Care Center Sonora. She is a mother of three, with 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, grandson Taylor Burgess and husband Elmer.

Ruby loved living at the Old Melones Reservoir Camp cooking for visitors’ many fish frys She also loved to waterski early in the morning when the water was like glass, perfect conditions. Quoted by Dan “Some locals from those days will totally understand.” Ruby moved to Sonora to live with sister Elodie Menzes when she was ten following the death of her parents. She attended Sonora Elementary and Sonora Union High School.

At Ruby’s request there will be no service. Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home entrusted with Cremation arrangements
