San Andreas, CA — From 2000 to 2003, 6 Calaveras County children have died and at least 14 were injured in motor vehicle accidents.

This week is safety seat checkup week in the county. The Board of Supervisors passed that resolution Monday morning.

Parents are urged to get their children´s car seat checked to make sure they are being properly used.

Appointments can be made at the Public Health Department, California Highway Patrol, the Human Resources Council and Murphys Fire Department.

Car seat checks will also be performed at Kids Day in the Park in Valley Springs June 3.

Also Jamestown Harley Davidson is having a car seat check up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 9.
