Tuolumne Ca, — A total of 5,168 marijuana plants were eradicated in the Cottonwood area of the Stanislaus National Forest today, 14 miles outside of Tuolumne City.
The search was a joint effort between the Tuolumne Narcotics Team and the United States Forest Service. According to the Sheriff´s Department, there were no individuals in the garden at the time of eradication. Based on trash left at the site, and the style of planting, the department believes it is a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization garden.
The marijuana had an estimated street value of over $2,000,000. An investigation is ongoing.
