Sonora, CA — Incoming councilmember Bill Canning is scheduled to take an Oath of Office at the Sonora City Council meeting tomorrow at 5:00pm.

Canning was a member of the Sonora area Planning Commission and was chosen by Mayor David Sheppard to fill the spot of Marlee Powell, who resigned in July.

Canning will finish out Powell´s term, which ends June 30th, 2008. He won the mayor´s appointment over four other candidates.
