Sonora, CA — A high speed chase from Tuolumne Rd. to Twain Harte ended in the arrest of an unidentified 15 year old male early this morning.

Minutes before four o´clock Sheriff´s Deputy Jeff Gempler attempted to stop a tan Ford pickup for a vehicle code violation. The driver accelerated away from Gempler and the pursuit was underway.

The driver proceeded up Tuolumne Rd. at speeds of up to 75 mph running stop signs and driving in wrong lanes. After driving around the Black Oak Casino area he headed north on Tuolumne Rd. Some 15 minutes later he pulled over in the area of Knox and Tuolumne Rd. North where he was taken into custody with no further incident.

The driver has a history of vehicle theft. The vehicle was stolen from the Turlock area where the owner had no idea his pickup had been taken.
