Starting today, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will require permits for all burning.

The CDF says burn permits and information are available at local CDF and STF offices.

Residents may also be required to get an additional permit from the local Air Pollution Control District.

Also, starting this weekend, hours for burning are restricted to between 7pm and 8am on permissive burn days only.

The restriction is in place until the end of fire season.
