History of the “Pioneer Routes” over the Sierra Nevada will be explored by Frank Tortorich Saturday, March 29 beginning at 10 a.m. in Calaveras Big Trees State Park´s Jack Knight Memorial Hall.
Tortorich, an authority on the subject, will talk about routes the pioneers took to enter California from traveling across the continent, particularly the routes over the Ebbetts Pass area.
Calaveras Big Trees Association invites the public to attend its spring series of interpretive seminars on subjects related to Big Trees Park. There´s no charge and reservations are not required.
The fourth and final seminar this spring will be held April 12 with park botanists Patti Raggio and Jayne Henning-Childress discussing the park´s plant communities.
