I have lost track of how many times the discussion turns to: "What is a great place to eat in the Mother Lode?" Vote for your favorite in the comments below! I can claim to be an impartial judge because I see food as a requirement, enjoying it as a bonus. My husband, out of necessity, has become a very accomplished cook! (He is particular about not eating pasta every night.) I do love all fruit- if the farmer's markets were open everyday I would be in heaven! On the annual events page there is a list of the local farmer's markets and their contact information. Where to Eat? Here are a few categories to sort it out: Cost- sometimes it is not about the economy sometimes it is. What if you want to go to an upscale truly fancy adult night out? Seven Sisters at Black Oak Casino is certainly offers that. You can read all about the chief and the luxury dining here. Tell us your favorite expensive or least expensive place to eat! Breakfast- Morning or even later who does breakfast best in the Mother Lode? I am going to have to go with Papa's New Roost not only because I used to go to Toastmasters there every Wednesday morning but because it is good food! Lunch- For lunch I'd pick a decent, cheap, fast place to get food because the places that aren't are usually great for dinner too. After the Murphys St. Patrics Day Parade my family ate at Firewood Restaurant. For the variety of food, lovely atmosphere, speed, low cost and awesome fish tacos (just try it) they are perfect. Dinner- you really have to pick a cuisine there are just too many good restaurants around here! Our cuisine search (on the right side of the dining guide)lists 30 different categories. Being of thoroughly mixed American descent exotic food to me is Koto Japanese Restaurant and Bombay Indian Cuisine. Both are very tasty and worth a try! What is the best hamburger? There are a lot of good ones but Diamondback has good burgers AND the sweet potato french fries are really good! The Mother Lode has quiet a few restaurants that offer vegetarian meals and several Italian restaurants- I just can't pick a favorite. The dining guide at myMotherLode.com is designed to go above and beyond a yellow page listing and has more detailed information than many national restaurant review websites. It is always being updated- let your favorite restaurant know that there is a form online here that allows a them to submit and update their information. Leave your recommendations below and check out our dining guide (keyword: dining) for more! | |||||
