Four Injured in Weekend CalCo Wrecks
At 4am Friday, a woman from Galt was moderatlely injured when she almost hit a deer on Highway 12 west of Burson.
19-year-old Tara Stroud was westbound on the highway when the deer ran out in front of her.
She swerved and went off the roadway, and her 91 Ford Ranger overturned.
Stroud was treated and released from Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital.
A wreck later on Friday morning was attributed to driving while sleepy, and left two Valley Springs women slightly injured.
35-year-old Candie Willmes had reportedly just finished a graveyard shift at her job, when she read-ended a 2003 Ford Expedition, driven by Delores Cromwell.
The westbound lane of Highway 26 was also blocked for a time.
Willmes and Cromwell both went to Mark Twain St Josephs Hospital for minor injuries.
A one-year-old in the vehicle with Cromwell was not hurt.
A wreck early Saturday morning left a Stockton woman with major injuries.
The CHP reports 26-year-old Nikole Brasiel was driving on Highway 49 while intoxicated.
As Brasiel looked down toward some food she was eating, she drifted off the roadway, lost control, and hit a dirt embankment.
Her 92 Honda Accord rolled onto its roof, and Brasiel was taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital for a broken leg and numerous bruises.
Officers then arrested Brasiel for DUI at the hospital.
