Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Planning Commission will host a public comment period this evening dealing with the supplemental Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Mountain Springs project.

The meeting will start at 7pm and is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors´ Chambers on the fourth floor of the County Administration Center.

Commission Director Bev Shane states that this will be an opportunity for the public to express concerns regarding the adequacy of the E.I.R. Shane adds the public will not be permitted to express approval or disapproval of the project.

The 45 day public comment period closes at midnight Friday. Once a response has been made to all public concerns, Shane will schedule a Tuolumne County Planning Commission hearing.

The proposed project calls for the development of approximately 1,063 acres surrounding the Mountain Springs Golf Course. The project provides for 897 primary dwelling units, 46 acres of commercial facilities to serve basic shopping needs, a 154 room lodge and 516 acres for open space and recreational uses.
