Adventist Health Sonora Announces New Operations Executive
Sonora, CA – Adventist Health Sonora is pleased to announce the promotion of Tyler Newton to the role of operations executive. He is filling the position left vacant following the appointment of Michelle Fuentes to president of Adventist Health Sonora.
Newton holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pacific Union College and Master of Business Administration from Liberty University and has filled many roles in human resources with Adventist Health. Beginning in 2007, he served as an intern with Adventist Health Clearlake and human resources resident in 2008 at Adventist Health Glendale. From 2009 through 2012, Newton served as recruiter for Adventist Health Sonora. In 2012 he was promoted to employment supervisor and in 2015 he was promoted to director of human resources.
Many of Newton’s key accomplishments involve improving employee engagement, an area he will continue to focus on in his new role. “Our community deserves world-class care and I am excited to work with employees on quality and patient experience initiatives,” Newton explains. “We can deliver excellent patient care through excellent employees.” In addition to employee engagement, Newton will also focus on projects related to quality and patient experience.
Newton moved to Sonora in 2009 with his wife, Kristin, and they have since welcomed two daughters to their family. Relocating from Los Angeles, they were immediately struck by how friendly and welcoming the community was. “I feel the hospital is a direct reflection of our community with our friendly, caring staff,” Newton says. “I feel blessed to have the opportunity to learn from excellent leaders, advance in the organization and grow in this community. My wife and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.”
