Behavioral Health Manager Tamayo Running For District 2 Supervisor

Sonora, CA — Rayanne Tamayo, a Behavioral Health Manager, is sharing details about her candidacy for District Two Supervisor.

She entered the race with a platform centered on “transparency, responsible governance, and practical solutions to the county’s most pressing infrastructure and social issues.”

Tamayo says she brings a unique perspective on the intersection of public health and public safety. Her daily work involves navigating the complexities of mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness. Notably, she provides services within the county jail, collaborating with law enforcement to address the root causes of recidivism.

“Working on the front lines with some of our county’s most vulnerable residents has given me a clear understanding of the challenges we face and the importance of caring, accountable leadership,” Tamayo says.

Beyond her profession, Tamayo also serves on a local water board and a property Association Board.

There are six candidates running for the District Two Supervisor position. Some of the candidates announced an intention to run ahead of the filing deadline, and they were covered by myMotherLode.com. This, and other stories over the coming days, are featuring many of the additional candidates.

Running in District Two are incumbent Ryan Campbell and challengers Tamayo, Steve Green, Mark Brooks, Juli Healy, and Diego Martinez.

A District Two Candidate Forum will air on Thursday, April 9, at 6 pm on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML.
