Sonora, CA – Caltrans has closed Sonora Pass and Ebbetts Pass for the winter due to the current road conditions.

Spokesperson Bob Boswell says the determination was made for the safety of motorists and Caltrans crews. Caltrans encourages motorists to carry chains this time of the year and be prepared for wet and snowy conditions.

Yosemite National Park recently announced that Tioga Pass is also closed for the winter months.
