Murphys, CA — The weeklong holiday celebration known as the Festival of Trees gets underway this Saturday.

The Soroptimist International of Calaveras County is hosting the 9th annual fundraiser at Ironstone Vineyards. It features decorated Christmas trees on display in Ironstone´s Music Room. Proceeds support scholarships and community service projects. Last year´s festival raised nearly $36,000.

Saturday begins with a black-tie dinner, dance and auction. Sunday´s Teddy Bear Tea is geared towards families and includes Santa Claus, a magician and story telling.

The festival theme is Magical, Mystical Holidays.

Beginning Monday, November 20, the festival is open to the public, through November 25, excluding Thanksgiving.
