Murphys, CA — Local celebrities like Supervisor Victoria Erickson and Chatom Vineyards owner Gay Callan donned waitress uniforms for a worthy charity luncheon Friday.
The event raised $17,000 for the newly formed local chapter of the American Heart Association called the Take it To Heart Foundation.
The lunch was held at Ironstone Vineyards. To earn tips, waiters hosted themed tables and entertained their guests with antics like dancing and auctioning off centerpieces.
County Auditor Linda Churches themed her table after her passion for Karate. Her guests were surrounded by bamboo and Feng Shui elements.
Folks who sat at Ironstone´s own Lynn Darmsted´s “Diva” table had to wear tiaras and hold pink wands.
This was the first major fundraiser for the foundation, which formed last year. Its first local campaign will be to raise awareness about childhood obesity.
