Lee Wilson Manhunt Ends In Calaveras County
San Andreas, CA — The manhunt for 39 year old Lee Wilson of Mountain Ranch has ended peacefully.
Sgt. Dave Seawell of the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department reports that Wilson turned himself into the County Jail earlier this week. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bail has been set at $235,000.
According to Seawell Wilson was wanted after shootting his brother, 37 year old Jimmy Wilson of Avery, at a birthday party Saturday evening, August 23 at a residence in the 500 block of Sorrel Rd. in Avery during an argument. Alcohol may have been a factor in that shooting.
The elder Wilson fled the scene with his 17 year old duaghter who was later located in Big Trees State Park. Wilson dropped a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun following the shooting.
His whereabouts during the subsequent 16 day period have not been revealed by authorities.
