Sonora, CA — The Medicare bus, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, made its three hour stop at the Junction Shopping Center in Sonora today.
Charlotte Yeh, the acting regional administrater for the San Francisco Office of the Centers for Medicare and Medicade, says the three year old nationwide bus tour is an opportunity to inform seniors of Medicare and Medicade plans, potential scams and provide them with resources to answer any questions they might have.
Scams include identity theft in addition to individuals trying to sell un-needed products to unsuspecting seniors. Yeh adds that scam artists will often times attempt to bill seniors for services that were never rendered.
Yeh adds that if seniors were not able to visit with representatives today they can always go on-line and click Medicare for any type of information or call 1-800-MEDICARE 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
