Jamestown, CA — C.H.P. Officer Tom Wills has confirmed that 50 year old Kevin M. French of Coulterville was killed in that Thursday afternoon single vehicle accident on Hwy J-59 two miles south of Hwy 108 and several hundred yards north of Red Hills Rd.
An open beer can was discovered adjacent to the 2000 white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup that apparently veered off the left side of the road. According to investigating CHP Officer Sam Glucklich, the southbound driver then overcorrected and the vehicle proceeded to hit a dirt embankment on the right side of the roadway and then flipped over landing on its top on the northbound gravel shoulder.
An autopsy will be performed for a possible D.U.I. infraction.
